Oakley and Meta are bringing new AI smart glasses to India, with a strong focus on Indian users and Hindi support.
Launch and price
The new Oakley Meta HSTN AI glasses will go on sale across India from December 1, with prices starting at around ₹41,800. Pre-orders are already open on Sunglass Hut, and the glasses will also be sold through major eyewear and optical stores in the country.
Design and hardware
These smart glasses are aimed at athletes, sports fans, and people who want AI in their daily wear. The frame has a built-in camera to capture photos and videos on the move, and open-ear speakers that let users hear audio while still hearing sounds around them. The glasses are rated IPX4 for water resistance, making them suitable for outdoor use and light rain.
AI features and Hindi support
The glasses work as an AI assistant that can be activated by saying “Hey Meta,” letting users ask questions, record moments, or get information hands-free. Full Hindi language support through the Meta AI app allows users to control the device, manage tasks, and create content completely in Hindi, using language technology from Sarvam.
Celebrity voice and payments
Meta AI is adding a Celebrity AI Voice feature, and one of the first options for Indian users is an English AI voice based on actor Deepika Padukone. Oakley is also testing UPI Lite payments on the glasses, so in the future users may be able to look at a QR code and say “Hey Meta, scan and pay” to make secure payments via their WhatsApp-linked bank accounts.
Variants and battery
The Meta HSTN range will come in six different frame and lens combinations, all compatible with prescription lenses. Oakley says the glasses offer several hours of active use, support high-quality 3K video recording, and come with a charging case that extends battery life for long days on the go.
